Curry-ish Hummus Recipe

By Diane D'Aubin

Hummus is the healthy dip that hails from the Middle East with superfood ingredients like chickpeas, sesame, garlic and olive oil. It’s readily available in a plastic container, but you’d be surprised at how quick and easy it is to whip up at home. Our version of this popular snack dip is loaded with great flavors from our Bombay Curry-ish seasoning.

Ingredients

Print Recipe
  • 2 15.5oz cans chick peas, drain one can
  • ¼ cup sesame seeds, raw or toasted
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled
  • 1 tsp Dizzy Pig Bombay Curry-ish seasoning
  • 1 tsp kosher salt

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in blender in order listed and secure lid
  2. If using a variable speed blender (we use a Vitamix), begin at low speed (speed 1 on Vitamix) and slowly increase to the highest speed (speed 10, then to High on Vitamix)
  3. Blend for about one minute, using tamper to press food into blades if your blender has that feature
  4. Serve with pita chips, crackers, or tortilla chips
