A little over a week ago, Dizzy Pig competed at the New England BBQ Championships in Windsor VT.
As usual, we had a half dozen EGGs lined up in front of our site to cook two contests. The KCBS event was on Saturday, and we were returning Grand Champions from 2014. We had an excellent cook, and while our chicken did not score as well as last year’s first place, we managed a 5th place in Ribs and a 3rd in Pork. Our brisket placed 12th, and our solid performance netted us a 10th place overall! Not exactly what we had hoped for as returning champs, but we do understand the nature of the game!! And to place top ten overall is always an honor among the stuff competition at this invitational.
Our August will be busy as we head to the Black Dog Music Festival in Floyd, VA this weekend (August 7-8) and then to New Holland, PA (August 29th) to defend our championship from last year![layerslider id=”Harpoon, July 2015″]
