Sweet Heat Stuffed Chicken Breast

Chicken breast can sometimes get a bad rep. If not done right, it can be a bit boring, bland, and dry. This recipe helps chicken breast reach its full potential!


Ingredients

Serves about 4
Chicken

Filling

  • 1/2 lb sweet Italian sausage
  • 1/2 lb hot Italian sausage
  • 1 jalapeño
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 Tbsp garlic paste
  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1-2 tsp Dizzy Pig Raging River, or to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat oven/grill/smoker to 350°F

Make Filling

  1. Cook the italian sausage until no longer pink
  2. Add onion, garlic paste and jalapeno, and cook until the veggies are tender
  3. In a mixing bowl, add cream cheese, sausage mixture, and parmesan cheese
  4. Season with 1-2 tsp Raging River (or to taste) and mix until well combined

Make Chicken

  1. Using a sharp knife, create a pocket in the side of the chicken breast for filling
  2. Stuff chicken breast adequately and season chicken breasts with a thin coating of Raging River
  3. Wrap each chicken breast with 4 pieces of bacon, using toothpicks to secure the bacon if needed
  4. Season the outside with Dizzy Pig Crossroads
  5. Place stuffed chicken breast in the smoker/oven and cook for 40-50 minutes, or until chicken reaches 165°F internal tempature
