Firecracker Meatball Cupcakes

Celebrate 2017 with FIRECRACKER MEATBALL CUPCAKES!! We found a recipe for meatball cupcakes and decided to give them our own spin with a firecracker recipe. Seriously easy to make and a show stopper on the table!

  • 1 lb pork sausage
  • 1 tube of Crescent dinner rolls
  • 4 green onions, sliced (green and white parts separated)
  • 1/2 jalapeño, diced
  • 1 tsp dried cilantro
  • 1 1/2 tsp Dizzy Pig IPA Seasoning or Shakin’ the Tree seasoning***
  • 1/2 Cup buffalo sauce
  • 1/2 Cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1/4 chopped salted peanuts

***Or your favorite seasoning. We use IPA because it has Citra Hops, lemon peel and spices with some heat which was perfect.


  1. Mix buffalo sauce and sweet chili sauce together.
  2. Heat grill to 350-400°F, or preheat oven to 350°F.
  3. Mix pork, white parts of green onion, jalapeño, dried cilantro, and IPA seasoning.
  4. Form into 1 inch balls, should make 12 total.
  5. Roll crescent dough out to 8″ x 13″ rectangle, pinch together triangles, and cut into 12 squares.
  6. Press squares into muffin cups. The dough should be about 1/2 way up the sides.
  7. Grill meatballs for 8 minutes, flip, and grill for another 8 minutes.
  8. Take meatballs off and place directly into mixture of buffalo and chili sauce. Stir until coated.
  9. Place a meatball in each cup and pour extra sauce on top.
  10. Place muffin tin on grill and cook for 20 minutes or until golden on top.
  11. Sprinkle chopped green onions and peanuts on top and dust with dried cilantro. Serve and enjoy!!
