Swamp Venom Cheese Grits Recipe

Grits are easy to make, but if you’re not from the South, chances are you may not have had it. Grits are usually eaten at breakfast, either as a side dish or topped with sausage, eggs, etc. This creamy cheese grits recipe showcases a classic comfort food with a zing from Dizzy Pig’s Swamp Venom seasoning.

 


Ingredients

  • 1 cup grits (use a gluten-free brand to keep recipe gluten-free)
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups milk (we use 2%)
  • 4 oz shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 Tbsp Dizzy Pig Swamp Venom

Directions

  1. Four simple ingredients
  2. Bring water, milk, Swamp Venom to a hot simmer in a heavy-bottomed saucepan
  3. Slowly whisk in the grits, making sure there are no lumps
  4. Lower the heat to a simmer, cover and and cook per package directions
  5. Once the grits are thickened and soft, add Cheese and serve
