Bel Air, MD – August 8, 2013
It was a pleasure for the Dizzy Pig team to be back in Bel Air, MD for the 7th year of the past 8. Scott Walker, Craig Ward, and all the folks in the crew always do an outstanding job of making this a contest that the teams and public look forward to every year. Except for a little rain and a good amount of humidity, the weather was actually quite nice. Not too hot, and the big rain systems just missed us. 61 teams competed this year, and as usual the field was loaded with “heavy hitters”. Craig is probably one of the best in the business at calling the awards. He has great enthusiasm, and his awards are very personal….usually touching on something about the team. Hearing “Dizzy Pig” called for both Chicken and Ribs sure did have our hearts beating! Unfortunately the brisket call that we generally can count on never came, and it has been par for the course not to get a pork call. In the end, Dizzy Pig came away with a respectable 7th place overall finish, and were pleased to learn our two sponsored teams, Peppermonkey and Finns Finest came in 3rd and 4th overall using Dizzy Pig. A big day for Dizzy!!!
Congratulations to good friend Jay Reeder of 4:20 Q for taking home the money, and to Mike Fay and Aporkalypse Now on Reserve!!
