#106 American Royal Invitational

Kansas City, MO – October 6, 2012

After a 2 year break from the Royal, Dizzy Pig finally earned their way back to the invitational! Chris drove out there solo, and was met by Chuck, Heather, Susan and Theresa, and special guest Julie Applegate. The weather was not fun at all, though. Cold, gray and windy were the words of the day. We bundled up, and had one of our best cooks, and perhaps our highest score ever! Getting any calls to the stage at this “World Series of BBQ” is an honor, and Dizzy reeled in a big 12th place call in the Chicken category! In the other categories, we cooked strong enough that we somehow pulled off 23rd place overall out of this heavy slugging bunch or 156 grand championship teams!
